Proverbs 13:1 – A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
Your Discipleship Minute
God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we expect Him to.
One such example of this is when we pray for wisdom. We pray and we expect that a light is going to shine down from heaven and our understanding is going to be increased. Sometimes that might happen, but it is just as likely that God will answer our prayer for wisdom by putting a wiser person in our lives. Many times, they recognize the mistakes that we could avoid if only we would heed their advice.
Pride tells us that we are self-sufficient, but God tells us that we need His wisdom daily. Are you missing out on His wisdom because you don’t accept the way God brings it to us?
First, humble yourself and ask God for wisdom. Second, be willing to accept it when instruction in Godly living is offered. Third, share that Godly wisdom with someone else who needs it today.
