Isaiah 64:6 – Our Polluted Hearts

02 Aug

Isaiah 64: 6

6 We have all become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.

Your Discipleship Minute

Everything we do in life is tainted by sin.  We expect this of our evil deeds and secret pleasures, but did you know that it includes all of the good things we do in life as well?

That’s because all of the good things we do are not meant to be counted as righteousness for us.  Only the righteousness of Christ is truly unblemished.

What matters is our heart.  Are we doing these good things to try to earn our way into heaven or are we doing them as pure service to our King?

Action Point

Search your heart and see what your true motives are for the things you do today.  Pray that the Lord Jesus will show us how to serve Him without allowing our hearts to become prideful.
